A videographer showed up on Sunday and decided he wanted to record some tunes. He happened to get a recording of Dinny O’brien’s and Islay Ranter’s Reel from the earlier session, and a song from the later session.
Notice the lighting. We did happen to have a number of mandolin family instruments at the first session. Most of which were playing during those tunes.

“Stately” tempos, eh? The first video makes it appear a bit that there are actually two sessions going on. Looks like a nice place to hang out and play tunes, nonetheless.
Is “stately” a euphemism for “too slow”? Yes, the Islay Ranter’s Reel thing, is only known by a few. I wished he would’ve picked one of the tunes where the whole group was playing, and focused a little more on the melody players. It is a nice place to spend Sundays. The musicians are great folks, and it’s a good time.
